FRAMEWORK NOTE
1st Edition International Argane Congress
The 1st edition of the International Argane Congress began with the organization of three inaugural conferences on the sustainability of the argan grove, the Nagoya Protocol and the presentation of ANDZOA, then several presentation sessions took place oral and displayed communications on the following axes:
→ The Argan tree and its ecosystem
→ Argan tree cultivation techniques
→ Development of Arganeraie products
→ Structure and functioning of the argan ecosystem
The main recommendations made by the participants in the 1st edition of the international Argan congress highlight the need for:
→ Morocco has an interest in ratifying the Nagoya Protocol as quickly as possible and establishing regulations on ABS (access and benefit-sharing) and an institutional framework for steering its implementation.
→ The creation of a center of excellence in research on the argan tree and the argan ecosystem ensuring better synergy between the different researchers and partner institutions.
→ The modernization of plant nurseries, or even the establishment of aggregate nurseries as is done for other species such as citrus fruits, olive trees, date palms and other arboreal species. The objective being to produce standard and/or certified plants…

Members of the scientific committee
This scientific committee is made up of researchers and experts representing the main national and global research institutions working on the argan tree and argan grove. Its mission is to rule on the procedures for submitting communications, to validate the communications submitted by researchers and to give opinions on all scientific aspects of the Congress.
