Agro-morphological variability of an argan population and contributed to the domestication of the species.
Pr. Ouafae Benlhabib et Pr. Mimoun Mokhtari
2019
METOUGUI Mohamed currently, researcher in agroforestry and rehabilitation at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University of Benguerir, and working mainly on issues of bio-carbon sequestration in forestry and agroforestry systems in arid zones and mining sites. Mohamed Louay Metougui obtained his doctoral degree from the Hassan II Agronomic and Veterinary Institute, where he studied the agro-morphological variability of an argan population and contributed to the domestication of the species, under the co-direction of Pr. . Ouafae Benlhabib et Pr. Mimoun Mokhtari. During this period, he worked primarily on issues of domestication and the use of genetic resources of woody plants for the benefit of marginal environments and lands. So far, he has contributed to 5 publications and 6 scientific communications. Before the thesis, he worked on the evaluation and conservation of genetic resources of durum wheat during the end-of-study project of the master’s degree in the same institute, also he worked on questions of genetic transformation of wheat for drought resistance at the National Institute of Agronomic Research in Rabat.

Chemical characterization and innovative valorization of different morphotypes of Argania spinosa
Pr. GADHI Chemseddoha
2019
BOURHIM Thouria holds a doctorate in Biochemistry from Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakech. Her thesis subject entitled “Chemical characterization and innovative valorization of different morphotypes of Argania spinosa”. Her thesis is part of the valorization of argan tree by-products to encourage users of the argan grove to preserve it and therefore contribute to the sustainable development of the region. Her research work was mainly interested in studying the effect of argan oil and argan tree by-products on melanogenesis and elucidating their molecular mechanisms. Her research has allowed her to publish scientific articles in international journals and to participate in numerous international conferences. Her work was funded by the National Center for Scientific and Technical Research (CNRST), Rabat, Morocco and by short-term scholarship from Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), awarded by the government of Japan, Tsukuba University.
