The International Congress of Argane tree is the fruit of converging efforts between the National Agency of Development of Oasis and Argane Areas (ANDZOA), the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, and the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INRA). Since 2011, the congress aims to bring together the national and international scientific community around advances in scientific research, in the perspective of fostering the sustainable and inclusive development of all links in the argane value chain. Holding the congress every two years, makes it a much-awaited event for researchers, institutions, professionals and all those involved in this value chain.
Coinciding with the celebration of the International Day of Argania since 2021, the congress, guided by a forward-thinking and sustainable vision, aims to go beyond sharing scientific research achievements and intends to spotlight the argane tree as a development lever. It also aims to propose innovations to meet future requirements, while dealing with the measures and precautions needed to promote sustainable use of the resources of this unique ecosystem. The International Congress of Argane tree thus aims to be a dynamic platform, conductive of the emergence of innovative solutions for an encouraging and sustainable future for the argane tree and its value chain’s actors.
